Suriving a Ferocious Moose Attack on the UAA Campus - My 15 mintues of Fame!
The first attack on the UAA campus occurred on January 9, 1995. It resulted in the death of 71 year old man, Mr. Ra. The following Friday the 13th, I was also attacked by the same killer moose. The following articles appeared in the Anchorage Daily News.
- Moose stomps, kills man
- Witnesses say students harassed cow
- Psychotherapist turns patient, Part 1
- Psychotherapist as patient, Part 2
Despite its occasional ferocity, the moose is not primarily a creature of destruction. The so-called "twig-eater" possesses abundant totemic energy, a healing power sometimes described as "moose medicine."
