| Our
History
On November 29, 2002, Golden Key Society celebrated
its 25th Anniversary. Golden Key was founded at Georgia State
University in 1977, by a group of highly motivated undergraduate
students. Golden Key was among the first honor societies to focus
on leadership and service in addition to academic recognition.
The organization valued diversity and brought together honor students
from different backgrounds as well as from different majors. Since
its founding, Golden Key International Honour Society has emerged
as one of the most dynamic, forward-thinking organizations in
higher education. Committed to an ethos of recognizing academic
achievement and encouraging altruistic service, the Society’s
on-campus presence has reached 335 campuses in seven countries
including Australia, Canada, Great Britain, Malaysia, New Zealand,
South Africa and the United States.
